About The Position

Mercer University School of Medicine is searching for an Autism Detection Technician on the Macon, Georgia campus. The Autism Detection Technician role plays a key role in supporting early autism detection initiatives by assisting healthcare providers in the implementation and use of the EarliPoint ASD system. This position involves working directly with medical professionals, caregivers, and families to facilitate accurate and timely autism spectrum disorder (ASD) screening and intervention. The technician will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the EarliPoint ASD system, as well as providing technical support and training to healthcare providers using the system for early diagnosis.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma/GED.
  • Prior experience in healthcare technology support, medical equipment troubleshooting, or working in clinical settings.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Technical proficiency with healthcare software and systems.
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work in clinical settings, which may include travel between healthcare facilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with healthcare providers, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently.
  • Commitment to serving rural and underserved communities, with sensitivity to cultural and language differences.
  • Ability to be trained on the EarliPoint ASD system and autism detection protocols.

Responsibilities
