About The Position

BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy, a member of the Elevance Health family of companies, provides specialty medication access and personalized support to consumers and providers. The Authorization Representative I completes and submits drug re-authorization forms for patients whose health plans require them for different therapy types. This is a hybrid role based at one of the listed office locations, with associates expected to work in-office 1–2 days per week. The schedule is Monday through Friday. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of a posting location unless an accommodation is granted as required by law.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of experience processing pharmacy prior authorizations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

• Specialty pharmacy experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter re-authorizations into the portal and ensure re-authorization forms are completed accurately.
• Submit completed re-authorization forms to the appropriate insurance plans.
• Maintain a log of all submitted re-authorizations.
• Follow up with patient insurance companies or physician offices by phone, email, or spreadsheets to determine approval or denial status for submitted re-authorizations.
