About The Position

This recruitment is being conducted under the Operation Hire Hawaii (OH-HI) project, a targeted outreach initiative featuring an expedited hiring process, fast-tracking qualified applicants into job opportunities throughout Hawai’i. Requirements

  • Legal Authorization to Work: The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
  • Basic Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university with at least twelve (12) semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing subjects.
  • Specialized Experience: None for Level I, and for Level II, one (1) year of progressively responsible professional auditing experience requiring the knowledge and application of generally accepted professional accounting and auditing principles, standards, theory and practices for the purpose of analyzing and interpreting accounting books, records, or systems.
  • Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment. The immediate vacancy has this requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Professional auditing work covered by examining of accounts for the purpose of rendering an opinion regarding the financial position and operations of the governmental agencies, individuals and business entities being examined.
  • Level I position receives training and assists in a trainee capacity in activities pertaining to professional auditing; and performs other duties as required.
  • Level II position is an advanced trainee, performs a variety of assignments ranging from the simple to moderately difficult which do not require the services of a fully trained auditor; and performs other duties as required.
