About The Position

This job posting is for an Insurance Licensing Clerk position with the Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs, part of the Operation Hire Hawaii (OH-HI) project, which offers an expedited hiring process. The role involves reviewing applications and supporting data to ensure compliance with insurance licensing requirements for individuals and agencies. The position also assists in scheduling and monitoring licensing examinations. Applications will be reviewed for legal authorization to work in the US, and qualified candidates will be referred to the hiring department for further review and potential interviews. A final disposition notification will be sent after a thorough review by the Department of Human Resources Development.

Requirements

  • Legal Authorization to work in the US.
  • Experience demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English.
  • Experience demonstrating the ability to make basic mathematical computations, including percentages and averages.
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible office work experience which involved the performance of a variety of clerical work including the review and processing of material (e.g., forms, documents, etc.) for completion, accuracy and conformance to standards.
  • Graduation from high school, or equivalent, may be substituted for the experience.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews applications and supporting data for compliance with insurance licensing requirements of the State.
  • Reviews documents required to be filed by individuals and agencies to determine continuing qualification for licenses.
  • Assists in scheduling licensing examinations.
  • Monitors and scores examinations.
  • Performs other duties as required.
