About The Position

The Audit Services Intern role at Royal Credit Union offers a unique opportunity to translate classroom knowledge into practical audit experience. This position involves supporting financial, operational, and compliance audits, developing analytical and data skills, and contributing to recommendations that enhance the organization. The internship requires commitment to a full 12 months, enrollment in a university or technical college throughout the internship, and the ability to work onsite at the Royal Credit Union Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI. Applicants must be located in the Chippewa Valley Area and submit a resume, cover letter, transcript, and anticipated graduation date.

Requirements

  • Enrolled at a University throughout the length of the internship, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Apply objectivity, logical thinking, analytical judgment, and critical-thinking skills to evaluate information.
  • Use effective interviewing and listening skills, demonstrate inquisitiveness, and commit to continuous learning and development in auditing, business practices, and new technologies.
  • Use Royal’s digital solutions across technology devices and demonstrate an understanding of Microsoft Office products to support audit work, analysis, documentation, and communication.
  • Located in the Chippewa Valley Area.
  • Must be able to commit to the full 12 months.
  • Must be able to work onsite at the Royal Credit Union Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI, throughout the school year and during breaks.

Nice To Haves

  • Completed or enrolled in Audit and/or Accounting coursework.
  • Experience working, volunteering, or participating on a team or club while balancing school work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and assist with operational, financial, and compliance audits by learning and applying basic internal audit skills and applicable standards.
  • Identify, analyze, evaluate, and document sufficient information to achieve audit objectives.
  • Draft constructive recommendations that address identified risks.
  • Support external audit preparation and complete administrative activities for the Audit Services team.
  • Protect department and credit union confidentiality, apply professional ethics, collaborate effectively with others, represent Royal's core purpose, values, and organizational culture, and complete assigned duties necessary to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act, including CTR and SAR completion when necessary.
