About The Position

Our client, a respected and growing CPA and advisory firm, is seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join its Scottsdale office. This is more than a traditional assurance role. It's an opportunity to work directly with real estate investors, healthcare organizations, construction companies, high-growth businesses, nonprofit entities, and privately held companies while gaining valuable exposure to a diverse range of audit, review, compilation, and consulting engagements. As an Audit Senior, you'll take an active role in engagement planning, fieldwork execution, staff supervision, client communication, and financial reporting. You'll serve as a leader on engagement teams while developing the technical and leadership skills needed for future advancement into management. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3+ years of public accounting experience
  • Experience with audit, review, or compilation engagements
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Plan and assist in managing audit, review, compilation, and consulting engagements
  • Perform risk assessments and develop audit procedures
  • Execute fieldwork and substantive testing procedures
  • Prepare and review engagement documentation
  • Ensure engagements are completed in accordance with professional standards
  • Prepare audit reports and engagement deliverables
  • Assist clients with financial statement preparation and disclosures
  • Review financial information for accuracy and completeness
  • Research technical accounting matters and document conclusions
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of accounting and auditing standards
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Communicate directly with client personnel throughout engagements
  • Assist clients with accounting and reporting questions
  • Deliver responsive and professional service
  • Support client needs beyond traditional compliance engagements
  • Supervise and review staff accountant work
  • Provide coaching and technical guidance
  • Assist with training and development initiatives
  • Support engagement teams in meeting deadlines and quality expectations
  • Help develop future accounting professionals within the firm
  • Participate in internal and external continuing education programs
  • Stay informed on auditing standards and industry developments
  • Assist with technical training and knowledge-sharing initiatives
  • Continue developing leadership and project management skills
  • Pursue CPA certification if not already licensed
