Stillman Law Office is a multi-state creditors' rights law firm headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Audit Assistant to join our team. This role plays an important part in supporting the Firm's client audit, compliance, and regulatory review functions. The successful candidate will help coordinate audit activities, manage documentation, support client requests, and assist in maintaining the Firm's audit readiness. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • One to two years of administrative, compliance, audit support, legal support, records management, or document management experience.
  • Experience supporting audits, compliance initiatives, quality assurance programs, or operational reviews.
  • Experience within a law firm, financial services organization, collections environment, or other regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements, client audits, vendor reviews, or contractual compliance standards.
  • Experience collecting, organizing, and responding to client due diligence or audit requests.
  • Experience preparing reports, tracking documentation, and managing large volumes of information.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and maintain calendars for client audits, regulatory reviews, internal audits, and compliance assessments.
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, and follow-up sessions with internal stakeholders and audit participants.
  • Track audit timelines, deliverables, milestones, and action items to support successful audit completion.
  • Communicate audit schedules, requirements, deadlines, and expectations to relevant stakeholders.
  • Gather, organize, and maintain documentation required for client audits, due diligence reviews, and compliance assessments.
  • Compile materials from individual accounts, departments, operational records, policies, and procedures to support audit requests.
  • Review documentation for completeness, accuracy, and consistency prior to submission.
  • Maintain centralized repositories of audit-related records and supporting evidence.
  • Ensure audit documentation is properly filed, retained, and readily accessible.
  • Assist in responding to client audit requests and due diligence inquiries.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, operations personnel, compliance staff, and management to obtain requested information.
  • Support the preparation of audit response packages demonstrating adherence to client expectations, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Track outstanding information requests and help ensure timely responses.
  • Assist in maintaining records demonstrating compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Support documentation efforts related to client contractual requirements, service-level expectations, and operational controls.
  • Help organize evidence related to Firm policies, procedures, training programs, quality assurance initiatives, and information security practices.
  • Maintain audit-readiness files and compliance-related records.
  • Maintain audit tracking logs, documentation inventories, and request lists.
  • Prepare spreadsheets, status reports, summaries, and other materials supporting audit and compliance activities.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve audit preparation, documentation processes, and workflow efficiencies.
  • Support special projects related to compliance, risk management, client requirements, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to special projects and perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental and Firm objectives.
