About The Position

The Audiovisual (AV) Field Service Technician III is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and commissioning complex audiovisual systems at customer sites. This role serves as a technical expert for advanced AV, control, and network-related issues while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring systems perform to Avidex quality standards. This position also supports the growth of the service team by mentoring junior technicians, providing technical guidance, and helping maintain consistent service excellence.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • AVIXA CTS certification required
  • Ability to obtain CompTIA Network+ certification within two years of hire
  • 6+ years of experience supporting commercial audiovisual systems, field engineering, or technical AV/IT environments
  • Experience troubleshooting audio, video, control, and network-based AV systems
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts
  • Experience with Windows and Apple operating systems
  • Familiarity with Crestron, Extron, AMX, and other commercial AV control platforms
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently while delivering exceptional customer service

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, HTML, or C# Pro is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve complex audio, video, control system, and network issues at customer sites
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize AV systems, including video conferencing, DSPs, displays, and control systems
  • Retrieve, load, troubleshoot, and modify control system programming from manufacturers such as Crestron, Extron, and AMX
  • Install, de-install, repair, and replace AV equipment, cabling, connectors, and system components
  • Commission AV systems and verify proper system performance before project completion
  • Complete accurate service documentation, field reports, and configuration updates
  • Maintain system programming, graphical user interface files, and project documentation
  • Provide end-user training to help customers successfully operate their AV systems
  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor for Field Service Technicians
  • Support remote troubleshooting and assist with control code updates when needed
  • Provide backup onsite support coverage as required
  • Participate in technician development, performance discussions, and interviews as requested
  • Attend required trainings and follow company policies and service procedures
  • Support the team with additional service-related duties as assigned
