About The Position

NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for someone who can find ways forward in the support of our audio visual event support and desktop services for learners, teachers, and all NorQuesters, collaborating with our Service Centre, Technical Infrastructure, and Application Services to resolve incidents, research and recommend solutions, and find ways to improve the services we offer. Reporting to the Manager, Technology Services & Support, the AV/Desktop Analyst is responsible for supporting audiovisual technologies, classroom Hy-Flex systems, event technologies, and end-user computing services across the College. This position is primarily scheduled to work from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and requires flexibility to provide occasional evening or weekend support for college events, live-stream broadcasts, and operational activities.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Information Technology/Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering.
  • Electronics background would be an asset.
  • ITIL Foundations certification an asset.
  • AVIXA CTS certification an asset.
  • Additional certifications including end user computing and audio-visual equipment relevant accreditation is an asset.
  • This job requires Fall Protection and Working from Heights training/certification.
  • 3+ years of related experience, preferably with knowledge of audiovisual systems, event support, and live-stream broadcast technologies in a teaching and learning environment.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the successful execution of events and live-stream broadcast services by coordinating the timely setup, operation, troubleshooting, and breakdown of audiovisual equipment.
  • Create, operate and service AV solutions, while conducting technical management activities.
  • Continually assess hardware and software and makes recommendations for improvements and efficiencies, identifying opportunities and researching effective business solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend audio visual and teaching and learning technology equipment for purchase which involves understanding the current requirements and future needs.
  • Provides end-user training on effectively utilizing audio visual and teaching and learning technology and services.
  • Provide support outside of College’s normal business hours.
  • Create and update documentation and record activities using ITSM tools.
  • Receive and respond to escalated incidents and service requests.
  • Prioritize and manage assigned tickets and work orders ensuring effective business operations.
