About The Position

ENT and Allergy Associates (ENTA), the nation’s largest ENT practice with 80 locations throughout New York, New Jersey, Texas, and Pennsylvania, is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Audiology Externs to join our team. We offer a comprehensive, hands-on externship experience in a collaborative environment alongside experienced audiologists, renowned otolaryngologists, and otologists. This is a paid externship with the potential for full-time employment as an audiologist upon licensure. Externs will be primarily placed at one or two offices selected to maximize their learning experience. Placement decisions take both educational value and extern preferences into consideration.

Requirements

  • Must be a motivated Audiology Extern
  • Must be seeking a comprehensive, hands-on externship experience
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative environment
  • Must be able to work alongside experienced audiologists, renowned otolaryngologists, and otologists
  • Must be able to work in fast-paced, high-volume offices
  • Must be able to gain extensive exposure across a wide range of audiological services for patients of all ages
  • Must be able to participate in a structured curriculum designed to complement clinical training with targeted educational programming throughout the year
  • Must be able to attend onsite trainings with leading hearing aid manufacturers
  • Must be able to attend dedicated educational sessions on VNG, ABR, and ECochG
  • Must be able to attend hearing aid acceptance and counseling training
  • Must be able to participate in enrichment and professional development activities
  • Must be able to attend all departmental audiologist trainings and events
  • Must be able to participate in regular check-ins with the audiology management team to support clinical and educational goals
  • Must be available for placement at one or two offices
  • Must be able to complete the multi-round selection process including initial application review, virtual interview, and in-person site visit

Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive diagnostic audiological testing for pediatrics and adults
  • Otoacoustic Emissions (OAEs)
  • Vestibular testing (VNG)
  • Electrocochleography (ECochG)
  • Hearing aid evaluations, fittings, follow-ups, and troubleshooting with multiple manufacturers
  • Ear plug fitting and dispensing
  • Auditory osseointegrated device fitting and dispensing (availability varies by location)
  • Patient rapport-building, history-gathering, and counseling across all service areas
  • Onsite trainings with leading hearing aid manufacturers
  • Dedicated educational sessions on VNG, ABR, and ECochG
  • Hearing aid acceptance and counseling training
  • Enrichment and professional development activities
  • Invitations to all departmental audiologist trainings and events
  • Regular check-ins with the audiology management team to support your clinical and educational goals
