About The Position
The Audio-Visual Technician’s primary role is to assist in the set up and operation of audio-visual equipment. Works with Lead Audio Visual Technician to ensure that complete customer satisfaction is achieved and is accountable for all inventory before, during and after each event.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or at least one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Candidates may have a working knowledge of basic a/v equipment and experience with an audiovisual company, theater production, television, radio station, church or college audiovisual media department, hospital audiovisual department.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Responsibilities
- Operates film, slide, video, data projectors, audio equipment, and lighting equipment to project or produce still or moving pictures, background music, oral commentary, to illustrate, clarify, or enhance impact of a presentation.
- Coordinates equipment operation with material presented, according to notations in script or instructions of speaker.
- Maintains equipment in working condition.
- Makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment and notifies maintenance personnel when correction of major malfunction is required.
- Positions, installs, and connects equipment such as microphones, amplifiers, and lights.
- Provide outstanding customer service.
- Contribute to the effective management of day to day operations according to company procedures.
- Timely and accurate set up and strike of equipment for client functions according to company guidelines.
- Continually improve audiovisual skill and knowledge.
- Other duties as assigned.
