About The Position

This role provides daily support for Audio Visual (AV) systems across various environments including conference rooms, classrooms, and event spaces, with a focus on hybrid meeting technologies. The technician will be responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting AV hardware and software, supporting live events to ensure seamless presentations, and performing routine maintenance and updates on AV equipment. Collaboration with IT, Facilities, and vendors for AV installations and upgrades is a key aspect, as is training staff on AV system usage and remote collaboration tools. The position also involves managing AV inventory, recommending system improvements, and ensuring AV environments comply with organizational standards. Additionally, the technician will contribute to AV design, procurement, and long-term planning to optimize technology across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Media Production, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in AV support, integration, or operations.
  • Strong knowledge of AV control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron, AMX) and video conferencing solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with AV over IP, sound systems, and digital signage preferred.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to support executives, clinicians, and staff under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Industry certifications (CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D)
  • Technical expertise with AV systems and collaboration platforms.
  • Clear communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to support occasional after-hours events and system upgrades.
  • Able to lift displays up to but limited to 50lbs

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support for AV systems including conference rooms, classrooms, event spaces, and hybrid meeting technologies.
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot AV hardware/software such as displays, projectors, microphones, speakers, control systems, video conferencing, and streaming platforms.
  • Support live meetings and events to ensure seamless presentations and high-quality user experiences.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, firmware updates, and documentation of AV equipment.
  • Partner with IT, Facilities, and vendors on AV installations, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Train and support staff on AV system use, including remote collaboration tools (Zoom, Teams, WebEx, etc.).
  • Maintain AV inventory, track equipment usage, and recommend system improvements.
  • Ensure AV environments meet organizational security, safety, and compliance standards.
  • Provide input on AV design, procurement, and long-term planning to optimize enterprise-wide technology.
