Attorney (Remote)
About The Position
Handshake is seeking experienced Attorneys to support AI research through flexible, hourly contract work. This is not a traditional full-time law firm, in-house counsel, or government role. You’ll use your real-world legal expertise and professional judgment to evaluate AI-generated content and provide feedback that helps AI better understand legal analysis, statutory interpretation, case law reasoning, drafting standards, and professional legal communication. This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity that can be done alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral work, or industry employment.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active or previously active law license in good standing
- Professional experience practicing law in a firm, corporate, or government setting
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
- Comfort working independently and following written guidelines
- Professional judgment, reliability, and a high standard of discretion and confidentiality, especially with sensitive or proprietary information
- No prior AI or technical experience is required.

- Design job-related prompts
- Review AI-generated responses for legal accuracy, sound reasoning, clarity, and relevance to real-world legal practice
