About The Position

Jarvis Law is a leading elder law and estate planning firm with offices in Dublin, Lancaster, and St. Clairsville, Ohio. Our mission is to provide unparalleled legal services that help families live securely, age with dignity, and protect what matters most. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our team. This role is focused on the organizational, procedural, and compliance aspects of legal practice—supporting our front-end attorneys by ensuring all case documentation, filings, and records are accurate, timely, and compliant with applicable laws and court rules. This role is going to help support our clients in West Virginia.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active Ohio law license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 6 months of legal experience
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Servant-leader mindset with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • High personal accountability and dedication to producing quality work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to train or mentor others and work effectively across teams.
  • Professional, positive demeanor with strong emotional intelligence.
  • Sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and keen attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • probate or real estate law experience preferred but not required
  • familiarity with case management software preferred
  • Willingness to learn WealthCounsel, ElderCounsel, and WealthDocs.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, forms, and correspondence with precision and attention to detail.
  • Manage and organize case files—both electronic and physical—to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
  • Track and meet all case deadlines, ensuring compliance with court and firm requirements.
  • Conduct legal research to support client inquiries and case strategy.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to keep matters moving efficiently.
  • Ensure all documentation meets the Firm’s quality control and procedural standards.
  • Handle e-filing and administrative submissions to courts and agencies as needed.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, colleagues, court personnel, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee and assist with estate administration cases, including probate and trust administration.
  • Review client files before closure to confirm all work meets company guidelines.
  • Review real estate documents, including deeds, for legal accuracy before submission for recording.
  • Manage and refine funding plan recommendations before they are presented to clients.
  • Provide compassionate, client-focused service with empathy and responsiveness.
  • Participate in firm workshops, presentations, and client education seminars as needed.
