About The Position

New York City Health + Hospitals | Queens, in affiliation with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, invites applications for a full-time Attending Faculty Gastroenterologist to join our growing, mission-driven division in the heart of Queens. This is a unique opportunity for early-career and recently trained gastroenterologists seeking the ideal balance of clinical autonomy, academic engagement, and meaningful community impact. As part of the largest public health system in the country and an academic affiliate of Mount Sinai, you will practice high-quality, evidence-based gastroenterology in a diverse, high-volume setting—while helping shape the next generation of physicians.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Gastroenterology fellowship
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology (ABIM)
  • Eligible for or in possession of an unrestricted New York State medical license
  • Current DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date)
  • Eligible for hospital medical staff appointment and credentialing
  • Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care in a community-based setting
  • Demonstrated proficiency in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy (EGD, colonoscopy; additional procedural skills a plus)
  • Interest in teaching medical students and/or residents through university affiliation
  • Participation in quality improvement, peer review, and patient safety initiatives
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Interest in scholarly activity, community outreach, or clinical research preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive gastroenterology care across both inpatient and outpatient settings, working in a modern, fully equipped endoscopy suite with access to the latest technology.
  • Collaborate closely with The Cancer Center of Excellence at NYC H+H | Queens, offering opportunities to participate in multidisciplinary oncologic care, quality initiatives, and program development.
  • Play an active role in teaching within our ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program, mentoring residents and medical students from NYIT COM, St. George’s University, and CUNY School of Medicine.
  • Work alongside Gastroenterology Fellows from The Brooklyn Hospital Center, providing hands-on procedural teaching and clinical supervision.
  • Develop a niche interest or clinical focus area within a supportive academic environment.
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and system-based innovation.
  • Engage in scholarly activity, case reports, clinical research, or curriculum development.
  • Grow as an educator with mentorship and academic advancement opportunities.

Benefits

  • Salary range from 361k to 371k (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).
