About The Position

High Point University Health- Oral Health Network (HPU Health- OHN) is a non-profit dental network providing primary and specialty care, affiliated with the High Point University Workman School of Dental Medicine (WSDM). This is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track faculty position with responsibilities in both the HPU OHN and WSDM, including the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and post-doctoral programs. The professional rank will be determined by the candidate's experience and qualifications. The faculty member will provide patient care in the OHN and educate pre-doctoral dental students and post-doctoral residents in the WSDM. The position reports to the Chief Dental Officer and the executive leadership team (ELT) of the Workman School of Dental Medicine.

Requirements

  • DDS or DMD degree (or foreign equivalent).
  • Active full dental licensure in the state of North Carolina.
  • Completion of a CODA-accredited prosthodontics program in the US.
  • Must be at least board-eligible from the American Board of Prosthodontics.
  • Robust verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional receptiveness and approachability.
  • Poised and professional in representation of HPU WSDM.
  • Receptive to feedback, performance improvement, and continuous coaching.
  • Knowledge of HPU WSDM’s core values and mission.
  • Strong ability to articulate operational and analytical data.
  • Clinical documentation, diagnosis, and treatment planning using electronic health records (EHR) such as EPIC systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably 5 years of experience in clinical practice of dentistry.
  • Proficiency in digital applications in dentistry, including scanning, CAD-CAM 3-d printing, and digital treatment planning.
  • Leadership experience and program building is preferrable.

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive and emergency care to patients seen in the HPU Oral Health Network (OHN).
  • Demonstrates the highest level of professionalism, ethical-fitness, and patient-centered approach.
  • Documentation of patient history, examination findings, diagnosis, treatment planning utilizing electronic health record (EPIC).
  • Comforts with digital technologies such as intraoral scanning, photography, 3d printing, CAD-CAM, and imaging.
  • Provides restorative dentistry with emphasis on implantology.
  • Be able to cover for other OHN providers, as needed.
  • Serves as an attending clinical faculty for DMD and AEGD residents.
  • May be involved in curriculum design and pre-clinical simulation lab courses.
  • To develop a digital innovation lab for education and application for the HPU OHN.
  • Provides continuing education courses in HPU WSDM as a content matter expert.
  • Serves as a clinician role model for learners and be able to thrive in a start-up education model.
