About The Position

The Attendant: People & Culture is responsible for providing administrative and operational support to the People & Culture team by assisting with employee records management, recruitment, onboarding, and general HR functions to support organizational needs.

Requirements

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Enrollment in or completion of post-secondary studies in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or one (1) year of experience in Human Resources administration.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail
  • Professional working proficiency in spoken and written English is required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with tact and discretion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Candidates must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
  • Candidates must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
  • Candidates must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support, including digitizing, filing, data entry, and document preparation
  • Assist with recruitment activities, including screening applications, completing reference checks, and coordinating interviews
  • Support onboarding processes, including completing new hire request forms, arranging first day details, and scheduling orientation sessions
  • Support training programs through delivery coordination, participant registration, accurate recordkeeping and communications and logistics.
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive employee information
  • Participate in team meetings and provide support on departmental projects and initiatives as required
  • Maintain employee records and HR databases, ensuring information is accurate and up to date
  • Respond to routine employee inquiries and direct staff to appropriate resources, policies, and procedures
  • Support the activities of volunteers, students, and work placements and provide training and orientation as required
  • Be thoroughly familiar with pertinent legislation, regulations, guidelines, OHS policies, procedures, and collective agreement
  • Produce and maintain accurate reports, records, and files
  • Participate in supervision, evaluation, training, and other meetings as required
  • Participate in the identification and evaluation of OHS program goals and objectives
  • Participate in professional development opportunities
  • Represent the OHS in a professional manner
  • Participate in public relations and promotional activities as required
