About The Position

This position is for an Attendance Clerk for the BGHS for the 2026-2027 School Year. The role involves 206 days of employment, with 7 hours per day. The Attendance Clerk is responsible for managing student attendance records, communicating with parents and staff regarding attendance issues, and maintaining the student database software system. The position also requires adherence to school and district policies, maintaining confidentiality, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to create and maintain daily, monthly, and yearly attendance reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and school administration.
  • Proficiency in using student database software systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Adherence to school and district policies and regulations.
  • Maintain acceptable personal attendance without repeated unexcused absences, tardiness, absences without notification, or abuse of sick leave.
  • Demonstrate positive interpersonal relations.
  • Maintain appropriate professional appearance.
  • Act as a consistent positive public relations agent for school and district programs and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain daily, monthly, and yearly attendance reports.
  • Call parents concerning truancy and attendance issues.
  • Accept parental phone calls concerning attendance issues.
  • Confer with teachers about attendance issues.
  • Confer with principal and central office about attendance and software issues.
  • Prepare, address, and mail weekly attendance letters.
  • Enter parent notes, calls, and doctor excuses into the student database software system.
  • Enter student check-ins/check-outs into the student database software system.
  • File notes and excuses.
  • File letters of contact.
  • Support office in any duty that needs attention upon request of principal or principal designee.
  • Attend district attendance clerk meetings.
  • Attend software conferences and other conferences in regard to attendance and truancy.
  • Demonstrate positive interpersonal relations by interacting effectively with and demonstrating respect for the views, rights and contributions of parents, teachers and other school personnel.
  • Maintain appropriate professional appearance.
  • Act as a consistent positive public relations agent for school and district programs and activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information regarding individual students and their families.
  • Implement and adhere to all rules and regulations, policies, administrative guidelines, and directives as adopted by the Board of Education, Principal, Administrative Staff, Superintendent and School Based Decision Making Council.
  • Maintain acceptable personal attendance without repeated unexcused absences, tardiness, absences without notification, or abuse of sick leave.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Principal, Administrative Staff, or Superintendent of Schools.
