About The Position

In this role, you'll work hands-on in ServiceNow to support CMDB operations and the data quality that Booz Allen's enterprise governance and security depend on. With millions of CIs in scope, the work centers on CMDB health and CI relationship health. You'll use ServiceNow KPIs to evaluate CI class and sub-class data quality, perform trending analysis, and act as the subject matter expert who identifies where data quality gaps exist and works with the stakeholders contributing data from key sources to close them. You'll maintain the CMDB ServiceNow Workspace and produce certified reports and dashboards on CIs and Services, along with analytic reports that answer questions from stakeholders and leadership. You'll develop knowledge articles that help stakeholders self-serve, collaborate with other ITSM SMEs, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the CMDB practice. You'll be a key technical contributor on a team focused on bringing stakeholders together around shared CMDB data they can rely on and trust. You'll partner with ServiceNow Platform administrators to ensure Discovery data is integrated correctly and with application and infrastructure SMEs to validate discovered CI data and identify where ingestion needs to be refined. You'll build Platform Analytics dashboards so stakeholders can see CI ownership, completeness, and environment classification. You'll also support the Attack Surface Management Working Group by providing the CMDB data and analysis that informs security prioritization. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with ServiceNow in an operations environment, including direct responsibility for CMDB data maintenance, CMDB operations, and data quality
  • 2+ years of experience with ServiceNow Discovery in an analyst capacity, including reviewing discovered CI data for accuracy, identifying pattern or ingestion issues to refer to platform administrators, and reconciling data from multiple sources
  • 1+ years of experience configuring and maintaining a ServiceNow Workspace and building dashboards and reports using Platform Analytics
  • Experience monitoring CMDB health using ServiceNow KPIs and producing trending analysis on CI class and sub-class data quality
  • Experience with ITIL Configuration Management, CSDM framework, and CI lifecycle management principles
  • Knowledge of data quality principles, including accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Knowledge of ITSM processes such as Incident, Problem, and Change Management
  • Ability to perform regular quality checks and remediation
  • Ability to produce stakeholder-facing reports, dashboards, and knowledge articles and effectively engage technical stakeholders and data source owners
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience applying the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) methodology in production environments
  • Experience with vulnerability data sources integration through ServiceNow Vulnerability Response or comparable methods and vulnerability-to-CI reconciliation in the CMDB
  • Experience with cloud operations such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including provisioning, tagging, account structures, and resource lifecycle management
  • Experience developing or supporting ServiceNow service catalog items and workflows
  • Possession of excellent written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) Certification
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - CMDB (CIS-CMDB) Certification

Responsibilities

  • Monitor CMDB health and CI relationship health using industry best practices and ServiceNow KPIs, evaluate CI class and sub-class data quality, and perform trending analysis to identify where data quality gaps exist.
  • Partner with stakeholders contributing data from key sources to close data quality gaps at the source and collaborate with application and infrastructure SMEs to validate discovered CI data.
  • Partner with ServiceNow Platform administrators to ensure Discovery data is ingested correctly and to flag where ingestion patterns need refinement as the environment changes.
  • Maintain the CMDB ServiceNow Workspace and produce certified reports and dashboards on CIs and Services, along with analytic reports that answer questions from stakeholders and leadership.
  • Develop knowledge articles that help stakeholders self-serve and collaborate with other ITSM SMEs to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the CMDB practice.
  • Support the Attack Surface Management Working Group by providing CMDB data and analysis that informs security prioritization.
  • Contribute to service catalog development for CMDB-related offerings and to the definition of CI class standards, field requirements, and data quality rules.
