About The Position

This role involves performing and assisting with analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. The chemist will utilize analytical laboratory instrumentation with supervision, comply with cGMP regulations, and follow standard operating procedures. Responsibilities include peer reviewing data, developing, validating, and troubleshooting analytical methods, and conducting method transfers. The position also requires maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment and analytical instrumentation, performing equipment calibrations and qualifications, and assisting laboratory management with employee training and audit preparation. Other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related discipline.
  • 5+ plus years’ experience in a chemistry laboratory, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience with analytical instrumentation, such as HPLC, GC, CE, ICP, FTIR, TOC, MS, and dissolution apparatus.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and effectively perform concurrent tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Desire and ability to work in a positive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and/or assist with analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
  • Utilize analytical laboratory instrumentation with supervision.
  • Comply with cGMP regulations and follow all standard operating procedures.
  • Peer review data generated by other technicians.
  • Develop, validate and troubleshoot analytical methods.
  • Conduct method transfers from other facilities and departments.
  • Author standard operating procedures and analytical methods.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and analytical instrumentation within level of experience.
  • Perform and/or assist with equipment calibrations and qualification.
  • Assist laboratory management with laboratory employee training.
  • Assist laboratory management in preparation for internal, customer and agency audits.
  • Other related duties as required.
