Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing Required
  • 4 years of experience in the clinical field of cardiac rhythm management who possesses the knowledge of advanced clinical patient care related to atrial dysrhythmias Required
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
  • ACLS Valid ACLS certification Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Valid BCLS certification Upon Hire Required

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a resource and expert in the clinical field of cardiac rhythm management of patients diagnosed with atrial dysrhythmias.
  • Develop standards and protocols for the Atrial Fibrillation program related to atrial dysrhythmia management in accordance with the key elements specified by the collaboration of the Heart Rhythm Society and American Heart Association ("Get with the Guidelines: A-fib").
  • Coordinate the evaluation and screening process of patients diagnosed with an atrial dysrhythmia.
  • Serve as the primary point person for the electrophysiology/cardiology team, including physicians, patients, and other clinical professionals.
  • Coordinate inter-departmental processes and communication.
  • Make recommendations to the physician team for final determination.
  • Serve as a patient navigator.
  • Ensure competency of staff with direct and indirect care of these cardiovascular patients across the cardiovascular continuum is current based on clinical evidence-based guidelines and industry standards.
