About The Position

DeVine is seeking an Atmospheric Scientist, Calibration Validation Specialist, to provide scientific support for current and future space-based microwave remote sensing missions on behalf of a government customer. The successful applicant will join a broad-based team of scientists and engineers analyzing microwave remote sensing systems, pre-flight specifications and characterizations of microwave radiometer systems, and calibration and validation (CalVal) of space-based microwave radiometric data. The position is based in Monterey, California. Remote candidates may be considered if they match most of the required and preferred experience. Applicants must be U.S. citizens. Compensation is $95,000 to $115,000 per year, depending on experience and skills.

Requirements

Master’s or Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physical Oceanography, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field; a bachelor’s degree with extensive (3+ years) Cal/Val experience may be considered.
Experience with calibration and validation of space-based microwave radiometric data.
Fluency in two or more of Python, C/C++, FORTRAN, C, Java, MATLAB, IDL, or similar programming languages.
Programming experience in a Linux/Unix environment in an academic or professional setting.
Linux shell scripting experience.
U.S. citizenship.

Nice To Haves

Experience with image processing and modeling algorithms.
HPC programming experience.
Current Secret clearance or higher.
