About The Position

Western Colorado University invites applications for the full-time position of Athletics Marketing, Ticketing, and Special Events Coordinator. The position reports to the Deputy Director of Athletics and is responsible for overseeing 5-10 student employee positions. The Athletics Marketing, Ticketing, and Special Events Coordinator leads the creation of design concepts and recommendations for advertising, marketing materials, and promotional pieces across all sports programs, while managing gameday ticketing operations department-wide. This position will also integrate marketing and ticketing campaigns and ensures corporate sponsor activations and mentions are properly executed through oversight of game script production. Additionally, this position supports the marketing and promotion of Mountaineer Athletic Association (MAA) corporate partners and members by coordinating recognition opportunities, benefits fulfillment, and branded activations at athletic events, and by developing and distributing promotional content across digital platforms, social media, in-venue signage, and print materials. As Special Events Coordinator, this individual plans and executes department-hosted special events such as the Crab Feed, Hall of Fame, and golf tournaments. Responsibilities include scheduling event staff, organizing event logistics, developing marketing and promotional materials, and assisting with the receipt and organization of auction items. In the area of home game-day management, this position coordinates all game-day marketing and promotions, including scheduling work-study students and volunteers for promotional activities such as halftime events. The role collaborates with the Director of Athletics and the MAA to engage, communicate with, and steward corporate sponsors, partners, and members, while assisting with outreach to prospective new partners. This includes coordinating MAA partner and member recognition at home events—arranging on-site promotions, hospitality opportunities, PA announcements, and branding in line with partnership agreements—as well as overseeing social media content for all sports and maintaining an up-to-date inventory of MAA contractual benefits to ensure timely fulfillment of marketing deliverables. This position operates autonomously and in full compliance with Western, RMAC, and NCAA regulations.
