About The Position

Aspire Public Schools is seeking an Athletics Coach to provide students with a high-quality, personalized athletic experience while upholding the organization’s mission and values. The role focuses on coaching middle school boys’ basketball, supporting student engagement and behavior, reinforcing a school-wide culture of high expectations and college preparation, and communicating with students and families about athletic activities and student progress. The coach is also responsible for eligibility compliance, coordination with school administration, and responsible stewardship of equipment and funds.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Relevant experience coaching interscholastic athletic teams.
• At least 2 years of experience working with students as a high school athletics coach.
• Knowledge of the sport being coached and league interaction.
• Demonstrated success with prior coaching.

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged.
• Support a school-wide culture of high expectations that includes college preparation for all students.
• Ensure athletes comply with Aspire and BASCALS eligibility requirements, including scholastic, disciplinary, and attendance eligibility.
• Work with administration to ensure compliance with school policies and practices.
• Provide students and their families with regular and timely information about athletics activities and student progress.
• Find ways to involve parents and guardians in students’ athletic experience.
• Exhibit fiduciary responsibility with equipment and monies.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and support for Aspire Public Schools’ mission, vision, values, standards, policies, procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and code of ethical behavior.
