About The Position

The Downers Grove Park District is seeking Youth & Adult Athletic Game Attendants to monitor and assist in the operation of different adult & youth sport leagues. This position is part-time and the hours may vary based on the league schedules. The Downers Grove Park District enriches our community through natural area preservation and exceptional recreation, parks, and facilities that inspire memorable experiences. With almost 600 acres of parks and facilities, there are thousands of opportunities for individuals of all ages and interests to grow, play, imagine and explore.

Requirements

Must be 16 years of age (15 years with valid work permit)
Possess good communication skills and display good judgement
Ability to work independently and creatively
Exhibit a pleasant and friendly attitude conductive to working with the public
CPR, First Aid and AED certification or a willingness to obtain certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

Arrive at the assigned league site within a reasonable amount of time prior to the start of games
Set up, take down, and storage of equipment and/or field preparation relevant to each league
Monitors all participants and spectators to reinforce safety guidelines during league play
Performs light custodial duties to leave gym or field as it was found
Be open and willing to respond to any questions and/or concerns from participants and provide appropriate feedback
Administers first aid when necessary
Develops and maintains good working relationships with participants, parents, officials, and coworkers
Attends staff meetings, trainings and special events as scheduled by the Recreation Supervisor
Follows and adheres to all Safety and District guidelines
Other duties as assigned
