About The Position

Hospital located near Galesburg, Illinois is seeking a full-time, permanent Athletic Trainer to join their team! This is a full-time, direct hire position with a varying shift/schedule that includes evenings and Saturdays for game coverage. The Athletic Trainer provides athletic screenings in schools, the hospital, and outpatient facilities, collaborating with the interdisciplinary Rehabilitation Team. They will provide training guidelines and modifications for athletes and coaches, make recommendations regarding athlete injuries, provide game coverage, and offer rehabilitation under the guidance of a licensed therapist. Additionally, the role involves planning, organizing, and implementing specific medically prescribed cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation programs.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited program for athletic trainers
• Licensure in Illinois or eligibility for licensure is required
• Certification by the National Athletic Trainers Association is required
• Current CPR certification is required

Responsibilities

• Provides athletic screenings in the schools, hospital, and outpatient facility according to the principles and practices of the National Athletic Trainers Association.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary Rehabilitation Team including physicians, physical therapists, and occupational therapists.
• Provides training guidelines and modification for athletes and coaches.
• Makes recommendations to athletes, coaches, parents, and physicians regarding an athlete's injury.
• Provides game coverage.
• Provides rehabilitation under guidance of licensed therapist.
• Plans, organizes, and implements specific medically prescribed cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation programs.
