About The Position

Ellis & Badenhausen Orthopaedics, PSC, a busy orthopedic practice in Louisville, Kentucky, is hiring an ATC / Clinical Assistant. The position involves patient care and clinical support duties assigned by the practice and physician. The successful candidate should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, a team player, able to multitask, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Responsibilities

Schedule and organize patient flow; accompany patients to exam or procedure rooms, assist with changing into exam gowns, and transfer patients to exam tables if needed.
Assess patients’ general condition and collect patient histories.
Document health history, activities, and medications dispensed or prescribed in medical records.
Provide basic patient care as ordered by the physician and assist the physician with procedures.
Provide patient education materials and communicate physician advice and instructions to patients.
Apply and remove casts and splints; fit patients with braces, boots, and other durable medical equipment as ordered by a physician.
Change wound dressings, prepare injections, and remove sutures and staples.
Prepare sterile trays and obtain laboratory and X-ray reports.
Schedule surgeries, hospital procedures, pre- and post-operative appointments, MRI and CT scans, laboratory tests, and referrals to other physicians.
Perform or assist with EMG/NCV studies when applicable.
Clean and stock examination rooms.
Assist with prescription refill requests.
Follow infection control and safety guidelines, confidentiality policies, and HIPAA, OSHA, and Red Flag Rules requirements.
