Athletic Grounds Staff
About The Position
Performs maintenance on athletic fields and facilities, including mowing, edging, raking, field repair and construction, and other tasks assigned by the Sports Turf Manager. This role involves assisting in the preparation of playing surfaces, installing and repairing irrigation systems, and operating various grounds maintenance equipment. The position also includes assisting in maintaining equipment and tools, keeping facilities clean, measuring and laying out playing fields, and preparing fields for painting and marking according to sport specifications. Additionally, the role requires assisting the supervisor in analyzing turf problems such as diseases, insects, and weeds, and assisting in the application of chemicals and fertilizers. The job involves moving equipment and supplies weighing up to 100lbs and working related events which may require nights and weekends. A flexible work schedule with additional overtime hours as required is expected.
Requirements
- Ability to operate equipment such as riding lawn mower to include reel-type multiple-gang equipment, line trimmers blower, edger, spreader, sprayer, and other equipment required for proper field maintenance.
- Ability to move equipment and supplies weighing up to 100lbs.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and additional overtime hours as required.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
