About The Position

Aspire Public Schools is seeking an Athletics Coach to provide students with a high-quality, personalized athletic experience while upholding the organization’s mission and values. The coach helps create an environment where students are engaged, supported, and prepared for success in college, career, and life. The role includes managing student behavior and engagement, supporting a school-wide culture of high expectations and college preparation, and ensuring athletes meet Aspire and BASCALS eligibility requirements. The coach works with school administration, communicates with students and families about athletic activities and progress, and encourages family involvement. The position also requires responsible stewardship of equipment and funds and adherence to Aspire’s policies, procedures, confidentiality standards, and ethical expectations.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Relevant experience coaching interscholastic athletic teams.
At least 2 years working with students as a high school athletics coach.
Knowledge and experience coaching high school teams.
Knowledge of the sport being coached and league interaction.
Ability and willingness to reflect and improve.
Ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community.
Demonstrated success with prior coaching.

Responsibilities

Organize and manage student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged.
Support a school-wide culture of high expectations, including college preparation for all students.
Ensure athletes comply with Aspire and BASCALS eligibility requirements, including scholastic, disciplinary, and attendance eligibility.
Work with administration to ensure compliance with school policies and practices.
Provide students and their families with regular, timely information about athletics activities and student progress.
Find ways to involve parents and guardians in students’ athletic experiences.
Demonstrate fiduciary responsibility with equipment and monies.
Support Aspire Public Schools’ mission, vision, values, standards, policies, procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and code of ethical behavior.
