About The Position

Aspire Public Schools is seeking an Athletics Coach to provide students with a high-quality, personalized athletic experience while upholding the organization’s mission and values. The coach supports student engagement, school-wide expectations, college preparation, and compliance with athletic eligibility requirements and school policies. The position also involves communicating with students and families, encouraging family involvement, and responsibly managing equipment and funds.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Knowledge and experience coaching high school teams.
Knowledge of the sport being coached and league interaction.
Ability and willingness to reflect and improve.
Ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community.
Demonstrated success with prior coaching.
Relevant experience coaching interscholastic athletic teams.
At least 2 years working with students as a high school athletics coach.

Responsibilities

Organize and manage student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged.
Support a school-wide culture of high expectations that includes college preparation for all students.
Ensure athletes comply with Aspire and BASCALS eligibility requirements, including scholastic, disciplinary, and attendance eligibility.
Work with administration to ensure compliance with school policies and practices.
Provide students and families with regular, timely information about athletics activities and student progress, and find ways to involve parents and guardians in students’ athletic experience.
Demonstrate fiduciary responsibility with equipment and monies.
Demonstrate knowledge of and support for Aspire Public Schools’ mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and code of ethical behavior.
