About The Position

Phoenix Processor Limited Partnership is hiring at-sea seafood processors for the 2027 A Season, which starts in January. Processors work aboard the M/V Excellence in a demanding, fast-paced vessel environment and are expected to complete the season. Work involves long shifts, extended time away from family and friends, shared living quarters, and unpredictable weather. The vessel’s factory operates 24 hours a day, with production personnel assigned to 12–16-hour shifts, seven days a week, for the duration of the contract. The season may require living and working aboard the vessel for up to 120 days, with minimal communication; Wi-Fi is available onboard. Daily duties may include operating machinery; producing roe, surimi, fishmeal, and fillets; preparing products for packing; stacking cases in a freezer hold; moving production onto and off freezer plates; loading and unloading product and supplies; operating a forklift; and cleaning the factory. The work takes place in a cold, damp environment and requires physical endurance, teamwork, and self-discipline. Pay is listed as $3,500–$5,000 per month, with hourly wages and overtime paid twice monthly. A case-rate bonus is paid 10 business days after the season ends. Housing and meals are provided at no cost. Flexible scheduling with day and night shifts is available. Shipyard work between seasons may be available. After one year of service, employees are eligible for a 401(k) with company match and medical, dental, and vision insurance. A pre-employment drug test and participation in the US Coast Guard-required random drug testing program are required.
