About The Position

Visiting Angels of Sioux Falls is hiring caregivers to serve clients throughout the local area. Caregivers help enrich clients’ quality of life and support their wellness in accordance with individualized care plans. Duties may include personal care and hygiene, light exercise and walks, meal planning and preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, medication reminders, mobility assistance, transportation and supervision during errands or appointments, and reporting health changes or unusual incidents. Caregivers must respond responsibly in emergencies. Advanced training opportunities in dementia and Alzheimer’s care are available for caregivers who want to broaden their skills.

The position requires reliable transportation, including during snow days. Applicants must pass a background check and maintain a working email and phone, as well as a professional appearance and attitude. Available schedules include full-time, part-time, PRN, days, evenings, overnights, and weekends.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
• Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times, including during snow days.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to handle multiple duties at once.
• Physical endurance for carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
• Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
• Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including a background check.
• Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.
• Maintain a working email and phone, and a professional appearance and attitude.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of caregiving experience is preferred.
• Interest in advanced training in dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities
