About The Position
The Department of Sport Management (SPM) at the University of Florida (UF) invites applications and nominations for one, full-time, 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position. This is an on-campus position (not remote). We are seeking candidates who will pursue an innovative, rigorous research program; teach undergraduate and graduate courses; and provide department, college, and professional services. We seek applicants with expertise in sport-related data analytics, including business, marketing, social media, performance, and/or geospatial applications. Candidates should be prepared to conduct and teach quantitative and computational research using modern analytical methods and tools. They should be passionate and enthusiastic toward student learning and demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence.
Requirements
- An earned doctorate in sport management or related discipline is required.
- Experience in conducting high-impact research
- Experience publishing in top sport management journals
- Experience seeking external funding to support their scholarship
- Passionate and enthusiastic toward student learning
- Demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence
- Expertise in sport-related data analytics, including business, marketing, social media, performance, and/or geospatial applications
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency in R and/or Python
- Experience with statistical modeling or machine learning
- Experience with data visualization
- Experience with SQL and relational databases
- Experience with geospatial analysis
- Experience with web scraping or APIs
- Experience with reproducible research workflows
- Demonstrated ability to publish in high-impact journals
- Successfully pursue external funding to support their scholarship
