About The Position

RTX has an opening for an Associate Director, Facilities Management: Americas – East, Connecticut Subregional Lead (Associate Director, Facilities) to join the Enterprise Services Real Estate Solutions (ERS) team. This position is responsible for facilities organizations at 9 Connecticut locations, encompassing 9.7 million square feet under roof and 1,800 acres, with an operating budget of over $250 million. The staffing includes 10 direct reports and over 350 facilities employees within the subregion. This role reports to the Americas East Regional Facility leader and is part of the ERS Facilities Management Center of Excellence (COE). The subregional leader will enable the subregion to adopt and align with the oneRTX Facilities Management 5-year roadmap.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12+ years’ experience in Facilities Management Leadership
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Operation or a related discipline or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree.
  • Facilities experience including Facilities Management, Facility Operations, Project Management, or Maintenance.
  • Experience with cross-functional leadership.
  • Familiarity with Federal safety and facilities compliance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems.

  • Strong relationship management skills along with experience and success working with an outsourced service provider and managing third party vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and gain stakeholder alignment along with the ability to manage multiple competing initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Program and Project management, including risk, schedule and budget management.
  • Demonstrated skill in financial management including the ability to develop and execute annual operating and capital plans.
  • Ability to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead facility professionals across the subregion in partnership with the Global Facilities COE and BRMS.
  • Responsible for teams that maintain all Building Operations and Maintenance including plumbing, utility, mechanical, HVAC, fire safety.
  • Responsible for oversight and management of site services including Food Services (Cafeteria, Catering, Vending), Site Services including custodial services, landscaping, snow removal, pest control, furniture moves.
  • Lead a large, dispersed organization consisting of complex bargaining agreements.
  • Align and implement COE strategies including service levels, selection of service providers, processes, tools, or automation / digital evolution.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the efficiency of your subregion, with a focus on an exceptional customer experience, including people, process, and systems.
  • Ensure local, subregional, and all federal safety and facilities compliance for all subregional sites.
  • Ensure compliance with companywide energy & sustainability goals such as becoming carbon neutral, reducing waste, and sustainability; this also includes developing and integrating ESG practices in the workplace.
  • Partner with EHSS to administer environmental and safety programs and maintain incident reporting system.
  • Work cross-functionally with relevant ERS COE’s, BRM’s, ES Functions (DT, Security, HR) and Business Functions (Finance, EHSS, Security, Logistics).
