About The Position

Clyde & Co seeks an enthusiastic attorney with 1–3 years of experience to join its New York office. The team litigates and arbitrates complex insurance and commercial disputes at trial and appellate levels in U.S. state and federal courts. Its practice focuses on renewable energy insurance and includes first-party property, marine, commercial general and excess liability, and construction matters. The team represents U.S. and foreign insurers in high-value coverage disputes involving property damage, business interruption losses, and product liability exposure. It also handles defense work in complex liability claims, including maritime, transportation, and commercial disputes, as well as international commercial disputes in the marine and trade sectors.

The position involves preparing litigation documents and correspondence, conducting legal research, and supporting matters from pretrial through trial, including appeals. The attorney may attend depositions, hearings, and mediations as required. The role is based in the New York office; the posting includes the tag #LI-HYBRID.

Requirements

• Be admitted to practice in New York.
• Have 1–3 years of litigation experience.
• Possess strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Have strong interpersonal skills.
• Be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
• Have excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Be able to identify and resolve problems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare pleadings, briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Prepare correspondence to colleagues and clients.
• Conduct legal research.
• Work on all aspects of matters from pretrial through trial.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations as required.
• Provide appeals and trial support.
