About The Position

New Mexico State University is seeking an Associate Vice President, Research Administration to oversee the Research Administration department, including central research development, pre-award and non-financial post-award administration, and research integrity and compliance. The position reports directly to the Vice President for Research, Creativity, and Economic Development (VPRCED) and serves on the VPRCED leadership team.

The Associate Vice President manages the department’s day-to-day operations and budgets, advises and participates in major decisions regarding university system-wide research, and provides technical and regulatory direction to the VPRCED and executive university leadership. The position serves as the contact for state and federal reporting on national impacts to grant and contract opportunities and awards, and as the institutional signature authority for all research-related funded awards and non-funded agreements.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Six years of increasingly progressive central university management experience in two or more areas overseen by the position: research development, pre-award and non-financial post-award administration, and research integrity and compliance.

Responsibilities
