About The Position

The Associate Vice President, Research Administration oversees the Research Administration department, including central research development, pre-award and non-financial post-award administration, and research integrity and compliance. The position reports directly to the Vice President for Research, Creativity, and Economic Development (VPRCED) and serves on the VPRCED leadership team. It manages the department’s day-to-day operations and budgets, advises and participates in major university system-wide research decisions, and provides technical and regulatory direction to the VPRCED and executive university leadership. The role is the point of contact for state and federal reporting on national impacts to grant and contract opportunities and awards, and serves as institutional signature authority for all research-related funded awards and non-funded agreements. The position is based in Las Cruces and is contingent upon funding.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Six years of increasingly progressive central university management experience in two or more of the areas overseen by this position: research development, pre-award and non-financial post-award administration, and research integrity and compliance.
