About The Position
Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) is a global asset management organization with a long history and a significant presence worldwide. MSIM focuses on providing long-term investment performance and comprehensive solutions to a diverse client base. Morgan Stanley Growth & Innovation (MSGI) is a specific MSIM strategy that targets late-stage, growth equity investments in high-growth technology companies. MSGI's inaugural fund, North Haven Growth & Innovation (NHGIF), successfully closed oversubscribed. MSGI operates within the Private Credit & Equity (PC&E) platform, which manages substantial client capital across various strategies. The Fund has already made investments in notable companies. MSGI aims to invest in category-defining companies with strong growth potential, leveraging the broader capabilities of Morgan Stanley. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a lean, entrepreneurial investment team, deploy capital into private technology companies, and contribute to the development of a growth equity fund. The position involves working directly with senior investors, contributing to the entire investment lifecycle, including evaluating opportunities, conducting sector analysis, financial modeling, valuation, and portfolio company monitoring.
Requirements
- 2-3+ years’ previous experience in growth equity, venture capital, private equity or investment banking
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Ability to learn quickly and interact well with others, including with counterparts across the Firm in Wealth Management and Investment Banking & Capital Markets
- Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a team player attitude
- Superior level of attention to detail
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments at once and meet associated deadlines important to success

Responsibilities
- Conduct research on macro themes, investment ideas, and target assets
- Build financial models for company projections and transaction scenarios
- Produce investment memoranda and support materials on investment opportunities
- Coordinate with advisors and consultants on due diligence items
- Monitor the performance of portfolio companies and interface with management teams
