About The Position

Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) is a global asset management organization with a long history and a significant presence worldwide. MSIM aims to deliver outstanding long-term investment performance and comprehensive solutions to a diverse client base. Morgan Stanley Growth & Innovation (MSGI) is a strategy within MSIM focused on late-stage, growth equity investments in high-growth technology companies. The MSGI team operates within the Private Credit & Equity (PC&E) platform, managing substantial client capital across various private equity and credit strategies. The Fund has already made notable investments in companies like Databricks, Anduril, and Ramp. MSGI targets category-defining companies in large markets with long-term growth potential, leveraging the integrated capabilities across Morgan Stanley's divisions. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a lean, entrepreneurial investment team, deploy capital into private technology companies, and contribute to the growth of a differentiated equity fund. The position involves working directly with senior investors, contributing to all stages of the investment lifecycle, including evaluating opportunities, conducting sector analysis, developing financial projections, and monitoring portfolio companies.

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years’ previous experience in growth equity, venture capital, private equity or investment banking
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to learn quickly and interact well with others, including with counterparts across the Firm in Wealth Management and Investment Banking & Capital Markets
  • Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a team player attitude
  • Superior level of attention to detail
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments at once and meet associated deadlines important to success

Nice To Haves

  • Experience: technology coverage or technology experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on macro themes, investment ideas, and target assets
  • Build financial models for company projections and transaction scenarios
  • Produce investment memoranda and support materials on investment opportunities
  • Coordinate with advisors and consultants on due diligence items
  • Monitor the performance of portfolio companies and interface with management teams
