About The Position

Reporting to the Vice President Business & Finance, this role is responsible for managing, directing, and overseeing the university’s financial and administrative functions. This includes accounting services, cashiering operations, cash management, loans and receivable collections, financial reporting, auxiliary accounting, plant fund and equipment accounting, capital construction budgeting, athletic budgeting and accounting, ticket office operations, and Foundation accounting and financial reporting. The position also coordinates and prepares financial information, analyses, and reports for presentation to the MTSU Board of Trustees, the Tennessee Higher Education Commission, and the Tennessee General Assembly, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with applicable requirements. The Associate Vice President approves contracts in the absence of the Vice President and performs related duties, special projects, and assignments as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Higher Education Administration, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a directly related field required.
  • Eight years of successful employment serving in a senior management position with three years at upper management level required.
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or eligibility for U.S. employment is required before employment (Immigration Control Act of 1986).
  • This position requires a criminal background check.
