About The Position

Provides strategic leadership, financial management, and operational oversight for a variety of administrative/auxiliary enterprises and quasi-business service units. This role is responsible for ensuring reporting units are appropriately sized, of high-quality, are efficient, and always provide appropriate and necessary services that enhance the campus experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Leads a diverse portfolio of services, manages external vendor contracts, and aligns various operations with the College’s strategic goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree Required
  • At least 5 - 8 years’ progressive leadership experience in mid-to-high level financial management, preferably in higher education
  • Strong financial acumen (data analysis, budgeting, P&L management)
  • Excellent leadership and team building skills
  • Administrative/business/auxiliary services oversight and management skills
  • Contract negotiation skills
  • Ability to understand complex, integrated administrative database management systems
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to operate various types of office equipment; work at various work sites; and cope with long workdays including weekends as necessary

Nice To Haves

  • CASP certification a plus
  • Participation in NACAS - National Association of College Auxiliary Services is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and implement long-range strategic and operational plans for administrative/business/auxiliary units to improve services, increase efficiency, and appropriately size operations
  • Direct day-to-day operations of administrative, business, and auxiliary units, including assigned operational and service functions
  • Develop and manage operating budgets, monitor financial performance (revenue vs. expenditure), approve expenditures, and ensure self-sustainability of administrative/business/auxiliary enterprises as appropriate
  • Oversee contracts and vendor relationships for assigned operations, negotiate service agreements with third-party vendors, and monitor vendor performance to ensure compliance with College policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate unit managers and support staff, fostering and developing a culture of high-standard customer service
  • Ensure all operations comply with federal, state, and College regulations, including health and safety; including ERM Compliance Matrix and financial audits
  • Collaborate with College leadership and stakeholders across divisions, departments, and administrative units to identify needs, improve operations and outcomes, improve campus life, and add efficiencies and effectiveness
