About The Position

The Vice President Finance owns the financial performance of Newrez’s Servicing business, operating with a high degree of autonomy to make decisions that drive its profitability. This is a highly technical FP&A leadership role requiring deep mortgage and mortgage servicing expertise across MSR valuation, prepayment and delinquency dynamics, advances, subservicing economics, and cost-to-service. As a key partner to the Chief Servicing Officer and a strong cross-functional partner to operational Servicing leadership, the Vice President translates financial analysis and the key metrics that drive results into decisions that improve the profitability of the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 12+ years of finance or accounting experience, including experience within mortgage servicing.
  • 5+ years of prior supervisory experience.
  • Experience with a mortgage servicing system desired.
  • Extensive knowledge of the specialized mortgage servicing business.
  • Working knowledge of mortgage regulations, particularly as they impact financial results.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Strong leadership presence and ability to influence cross-functionally.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; Snowflake, SQL, and other data tools a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate across the organization and to leverage and delegate effectively across the team to achieve results.
  • Ability to work with speed and accuracy under tight deadlines.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and is motivated to build out and elevate the finance group.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Own the financial performance of the Servicing business, including the P&L, annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and long-range planning, with a high degree of autonomy to make decisions that drive profitability.
  • Own the preparation and delivery of the monthly Servicing finance deck, and the analysis of monthly results and variances to forecast, including the relationship to the key operational metrics that drive financial results (e.g., MSR valuation, prepayment/CPR, delinquency, advances, and cost-to-service).
  • Build, enhance, and maintain financial and forecast models. Significant groundwork is required to modernize the department's existing models to sufficiently support the needs of the business.
  • Lead financial modeling for key initiatives and special projects, cost benefit analysis, analytics, prepayment and delinquency/loss forecasting, subservicing economics, and earnings and board/investor reporting support.
  • Own ad hoc financial analysis, with a particular focus on ROE, including acquisitions and cost-benefit analysis of changes to the business, particularly expense-reduction initiatives.
  • Own the controls that ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, working closely with Accounting and Data teams.
  • Lead participation in industry surveys and analyze competitor results to inform competitive benchmarking and comp analysis.
  • Leverage AI and automation to drive speed, accuracy, and efficiency, especially for routine, recurring, and data-intensive tasks.
  • Serve as a key partner to the Chief Servicing Officer and a thought partner to operational Servicing leadership, offering financial guidance, strategy, and scenario planning to support decisions that drive profitability.
  • Lead, develop, and delegate effectively across the team to deliver results; set modeling and analysis standards and mentor Finance Managers, Directors, and analysts.
  • Perform managerial duties such as goal setting and tracking, performance monitoring and coaching, and ensuring associate engagement.
  • Ability to effectively and accurately convey information to others.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.
