About The Position

Lashley Animal Hospital is a small-animal practice seeking an additional veterinarian to serve clients and care for companion animals. The practice provides comprehensive care for dogs and cats, including treatment of injuries and acute or chronic illness, immunization, surgery, nutrition, radiology, dental care, and preventive care. Requirements

DVM or VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
Appropriate state licensure.
Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Consistently professional and courteous presentation with staff and clients.
Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of diseases or injuries.
Operate diagnostic equipment, collect diagnostic samples, and interpret results.
Advise pet owners on preventive care and treatment options.
Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
Counsel pet owners about end-of-life care for pets.
Maintain patients’ medical records.
Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
