About The Position

Huber Heights Animal Hospital, serving the Dayton community since 1959, is seeking a full-time veterinarian to join their collaborative three-doctor team. This position is ideal for both new graduates, with mentorship available, and experienced DVMs looking for a stable, well-equipped practice. The hospital emphasizes a supportive, team-oriented environment with strong technician support, allowing for thoughtful practice of medicine, client relationship building, and appropriate case management. The role offers comfortable appointment pacing, reliable technician support, collaborative medicine, predictable scheduling, and a positive team environment. Medical capabilities include digital radiography, digital dental radiography, therapy laser, ultrasound, and surgical services with opportunities for skill development. An interest in surgery is welcomed but not required.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
  • Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
  • Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
  • Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
  • Strong fondness and understanding of animals
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of animal behavior
  • Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals

Responsibilities

  • Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
  • Treat and dress wounds
  • Perform surgery on animals
  • Test for and vaccinate against diseases
  • Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines

  • Prescribe medication
