About The Position

Wellesley Animal Hospital is seeking an associate veterinarian to provide preventive, medical, surgical, and dental care for small-animal patients in Wellesley, Weston, Natick, and surrounding communities. The caseload is primarily dogs and cats, ranging from puppy and kitten visits to senior-pet management. The practice also offers acupuncture and laser rehab therapy, and the veterinarian may develop clinical interests and add services based on those interests. The veterinarian works four 10-hour days, with a rotating Saturday shift approximately once every three weeks and no on-call expectations. Hospital hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.; and Saturday, 8:30 a.m.–2 p.m. Appointments are 30 minutes, with an average of 15 appointments per day, a one-hour lunch block, and a one-hour call block. Saturdays are the only solo shifts. The clinical team includes two credentialed technicians and four assistants. Doctors coordinate coverage and pick up shifts for one another to support planned time off. The hospital works with Veterinary Emergency Group for after-hours emergency resources. As part of Community Veterinary Partners, the practice retains a local identity and clinical autonomy while offering access to a broader network and professional-growth resources. Compensation is a base salary of $130,000–$150,000 annually plus 21% monthly production, with no negative accrual. Sign-on bonuses are tailored to the candidate’s commitment, and relocation assistance is available. Benefits include paid time off, paid parental leave eligibility after one year of service, continuing-education funding and paid CE days, professional fees and liability coverage, a 401(k) match, equity opportunities, mental-health support, pet-care discounts, team recognition programs, structured onboarding, leadership-development resources, and healthcare coverage.
