About The Position

Veterinary Wellness Partners is a privately owned, family-oriented, mixed animal veterinary practice seeking a Full Time Associate Mixed Animal Veterinarian. The practice has a strong commitment to excellence and is expanding its dynamic team due to an increasing number of new clients. Founded in 1956, the Orrville Veterinary Clinic was the first in their organization, which has now grown to five clinics. They also have a robust large animal medical team operating out of the Orrville location, serving clients across Northeast Ohio in Wayne, Medina, Summit, and Stark counties. The practice emphasizes collaboration with veterinarians within their network and stays current with progressive veterinary medical technology. They offer the ability to build long-lasting relationships with personal clientele. Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an accredited veterinary college.
  • Active veterinary license in Ohio through the Ohio Veterinary Medical Licensing Board.
  • DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances regulated by the Drug Enforcement Administration required; paid by VWP.
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with valid Ohio veterinary license; in good standing.

Responsibilities

  • Examine, diagnose, and treat sick animals of all eligible species
  • Diagnose medical conditions using clinical evaluation and diagnostic tools
  • Develop and implement treatment plans and/or protocols tailored to both small animal and farm and equine patients
  • Prescribe medications, vaccines, and therapies appropriate for species and condition
  • Provide preventive care including vaccinations and parasite prevention
  • Perform surgery when necessary or requested
  • Consult with clients on herd health, nutrition, preventive care, and disease management
  • Perform routine surgical procedures such as spay and neuter surgeries, mass removals, wound repairs, and dental procedures for small animals
  • Perform routine and emergency surgical procedures for large animals, including castrations, laceration repair, DA surgeries, reproductive procedures such as Caslick’s, and dental procedures for equines
  • Maintain safety and sterile techniques in field settings and occasional clinic settings
  • Communicate diagnoses and treatment plans clearly and compassionately to small animal owners
  • Build trusting relationships with pet owners
  • Provide education on preventative care and long-term health management for small animals
  • Support small animal clients through difficult medical decisions with empathy
  • Clearly explain diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care strategies to large animal clients
  • Build trust and strong relationships with clients managing farms or equine facilities
  • Provide compassionate guidance during difficult medical or herd health decisions for large animals
  • Respond to clients in a timely manner
  • Perform call-backs when necessary
  • Work closely with veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service staff
  • Foster a collaborative and respectful workplace
  • Support team members in delivering excellent patient care
  • Participate in case discussions and knowledge sharing
  • Participate in mentorship sessions and case reviews
  • Engage in continuing education opportunities
