About The Position

Even before opening the doors of the Animal Medical Center of Troy, MO in the spring of 2000, our goal was to practice the best possible veterinary medicine while fostering a friendly environment with a highly knowledgeable staff. Today, we have more than achieved that goal. What began as a small practice with one veterinarian and only a few exam rooms has now been transformed into an 8,600 square foot facility with two full-time doctors offering everything from routine wellness care to state-of-the-art diagnostics, surgery, cancer care, and even laser therapy. Animal Medical Center of Troy is on the lookout for a passionate, friendly, and driven Associate Veterinarian to join our incredible crew! Requirements

  • A DVM (or soon-to-be grad) with a valid license to practice in Missouri
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit
  • A love for client education and animal medicine
  • An eagerness to make an impact in a close-knit, community-oriented clinic
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients
  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
