About The Position

Lefferts Animal Hospital is a well-established, progressive, eight-doctor general practice in Richmond Hill, New York, seeking an Associate Veterinarian. The hospital treats companion animals and offers preventive care, surgery, emergency and urgent care, high-speed dentistry, surgical CO2 laser, cold laser therapy, in-house diagnostics, digital full-body and dental radiology, ultrasonography, acupuncture, and house calls. Mentoring is available for new graduates, and the practice has no emergency hours. The role may be full-time or part-time and offers future ownership opportunities. The veterinarian will build relationships with clients and partner with them to provide high-quality patient care. They will treat each pet as an individual, help minimize stress and discomfort, keep current with veterinary advances, collaborate with the hospital team, and support the continued development of the support team.

Requirements

Proficiency in general medicine and surgery.
Ability to practice medicine independently.
Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an AVMA-accredited university.
Current DEA license or ability to obtain one upon hire.
Active veterinary state license.
