Associate Veterinarian Avian & Exotic Species Focus

Alliance Animal HealthWindham, NH

About The Position

At Canobie Lake Veterinary Hospital, avian and exotic medicine isn’t a side service—it’s half of who we are. Fifty percent of our patients are birds, reptiles, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, pocket pets, and amphibians. We have built our team, our culture, and our systems around delivering top-notch care to every species that walks, hops, slithers, or flies through our door. If you love the complexity of exotic medicine, thrive in a hospital that actually takes it seriously, and want a role that respects your time and your expertise—keep reading. As an Associate Veterinarian with an avian and exotic focus, you’ll practice at the top of your license across a rich variety of species. You’ll work alongside a collaborative team that includes our Customer Experience Team (CET), Technicians (TT), and Veterinary Assistants (VA)—all trained to support multi-species care at a high level. You’ll have the mentorship of experienced colleagues, the backing of a Medical Director, and access to our specialist network—including a boarded surgeon, cardiologist, and two traveling internists. You won’t be out on a limb. You’ll be supported. This is the part that sets us apart. Half of our caseload is avian and exotic, which means you’ll spend your days working with the full spectrum of non-traditional species: Birds (psittacines, passerines, raptors, and more) Rabbits Guinea pigs Ferrets Reptiles (lizards, snakes, chelonians, and beyond) Pocket pets (hamsters, gerbils, mice, rats, chinchillas) Amphibians No two days look alike. The diagnostic puzzles are real, the medicine is nuanced, and the clients are devoted. This is exotic medicine done right—with the equipment, the support staff, and the culture to back it up.
