About The Position

As an Associate UX/Product Designer, you will report to the UX Manager and be part of a team ofdesigners, researchers, and content strategists. Your mission is to lead design efforts for a Scrum team, crafting and delivering top-notch userexperiences for property management professionals. Additionally, you will also be contributing tothe annual UX team initiatives. Team contextYou'll be on a team of designers, researchers, and content strategists.You'll report to a UX Manager.You will lead design for a scrum team, as well as contribute to annual UX Team initiatives.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • 1+ years of UX design and/or product design experience.
  • Fluency in Figma and other commonly-used design tools.
  • Fluency in user-centered design principles and testing methodologies.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively present and communicate design processes, ideas, andsolutions to teams and customers.
  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodology; ability to plan and manage design work for 2-3projects at a time.
  • Experience creating or working with Design Systems as a producer and/or consumer.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and advocate for consumer-grade user experiences
  • Ability to learn quickly and proficiency at understanding and absorbing new information
  • Efficiency, producing significant outputs with minimal wasted effort
  • Organization, planning according to the roadmap and the tasks at hand in an efficient andproductive way, focusing on key priorities
  • Proactive approach to consistently solicit feedback on your work and openness to constructivecriticisms

  • Learning about your product area, competitors, their solutions, and our gaps.
  • Becoming familiar with property manager’s jobs-to-be-done.

  • Building relationships with peers across UX, Product Management and Engineering areas andacross the company.
  • Learning how the product delivery teams (UX, Product Management and Engineering) worktogether to build products.

  • Learning how to communicate, present, and share work in progress in 1:1s and DesignCritiques by framing problems, pros & cons, and questions.
  • Proactively collaborating and soliciting feedback with the intention of learning and improving.
  • Regularly reporting progress to your UX Manager.
  • Beginning to develop a UX network both within and outside of Buildium.
  • With coaching from your UX Manager, collaborating with teams to articulate and align onproblem statements based on research.
  • Gaining awareness of design thinking.
  • Collaborating with teams to prioritize and scope work.
  • With coaching on collaborative methods, exploring concepts, narrowing to the best solutionthrough research and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Applying and executing appropriate research methods, as well as assisting in recruitingparticipants and the related scheduling efforts.
  • Getting design work shipped.
  • Gaining familiarity with our design system and learning how to design with its components andpatterns.
  • Delivering UI that follows our fundamentals.
  • Learning how to set and meet monthly, weekly and daily goals.
  • Understanding KPIs for each of your projects and ensuring that they measure theproblem/solution.
  • Work with other designers to achieve top-notch results.
  • Knowing and prioritizing what’s most important while managing your time efficiently.
  • Contribute to Buildium’s product delivery strategy by leading product design in a scrum team,delivering discovery outcomes and initial designs ahead of the planned implementation datefor the team’s roadmap projects.
  • In parallel to the scrum work, use a portion of your time to contribute to expand and grow ourUX Initiatives, focused on UX process and operational improvements, our Design System, orglobal product innovation.
